Honesty Is the Best Policy
Honesty is the best policy
means being honest with people in the life. Being honest help others to always
trust on us and show our real character to them which is enough to let them
know that we always tell the truth.
Being trustworthy helps us to build a strong
relationship by assuring others about our trustworthy nature. On the other
hand, people who are dishonest never get second chance once they tell lie to
people. It happens because people think that they will always be cheated in
future by the dishonest person through lots of white lies.
Vocabulary
Pervasive: existing or
spreading everywhere.
Trivial: unimportant; of
little value.
Tattling on each other: tell
something bad that another person has done.
Mislead: a cover that hides
the way someone or something really is.
Venner: the condition of
thinking about only one thing.
Relentless: continuing without
stopping or loseing strength.
Finely honed: sharpened; perfected.
Conceal: hide something
carefully.
Preoccupation: exaggerated;
overly important.
Instrusive: affecting
someone's privete life in an annoying way.
Erosion: the gradual reduction
or wearing down something.
Inflated: make someone believe something that is not true
Grammar
If you are certain about
something that means you are sure, but it is important to keep in mind you can
be certain in both the positive and negative.
A person who is 100 percent sure uses the verb be, as
in, "I am sick."
If
they are mostly sure, say 95 percent, they will use the modal must,
as in, "I must be sick."
When
speakers are about 50 percent sure, they will use the modals may, might, or could;
as in "I may be sick. I might be sick. I could be
sick."
